Amerisafe only writes Workers' Compensation Insurance for Hazardous Occupations,
targeting:
We have consistently produced superior results from focusing on the needs
and demands of our policyholders and injured workers. Many of our employees
come from backgrounds in hazardous industries and their understanding
and experience enable us to provide services that are meaningful and highly
effective in underwriting, loss prevention, and claims services.
Our products are distributed through over 1,800 independent agents in more than 25 states. We are also licensed by the U.S. Department of Labor to underwrite USL & H exposures. See our territory map for current product availability by state.
Most insurance companies that write hazardous businesses have a lengthy
list of exposures that they exclude from underwriting consideration; we
don't. We analyze each prospective client on their own merits relative
to known industry trends and statistical data. Our underwriting goal is
to price our products as competitively as possible while still achieving
a profit margin. Our profitability assures financial stability to our
policyholders and provides a solid base for continued growth. We are rated
“A-” Excellent by A.M. Best and our current financial size
category is “VIII”.
Amerisafe targets industries that are generally characterized by the potential for severe injuries - that is hazardous industries. Our underwriting process begins with an Amerisafe Loss Control Specialist providing a job-site inspection prior to quoting and includes an in-depth analysis of each submission to ensure we price our products as competitively as possible. The more information we receive the better job we can do. We accept submissions up to 120 days prior to current expiration. This gives us the best opportunity to provide you the most competitive proposal possible.
